Ayamonte Bus Station

Ayamonte Bus station is located on Avenida Cayetano Feu. The bus station is currently being refurbished, tickets, information and timetables are available from the prefabricated building in the car park.

To walk to the station from the centre of town follow these directions: From the Paseo de la Ribera (the Plaza across from the marina) walk towards the Plaza de la Coronacion and Avenida de Andalucia. You are walking away from town with the marina to your right.

Continue along Avenida de Andalucia with the river, park and zoo to your right. At the end, when you reach the roundabout, walk to the left with the Galp petrol station to your right. Once you pass the Plaza Jimenez Barberi on your left you will see the bus station on your right.

There are local bus services available around town and to Isla Canela. Further afield services are available to Huelva, Seville and Madrid in Spain. You can also catch buses to Vila Real, Tavira, Faro and Albufeira in Portugal. It is also possible to catch a connecting service to Lisbon.

The circular service runs from 7am to 10pm on weekdays and 10am to 8pm on weekends. The service, which commences from the bus station, goes as far as Barriada de Canela at one end of the town and to the Poligono Industrial (Industrial Estate) at the the other end.

The service is run with three medium sized buses which means there is a service every 15-25 minutes. The route and stops for the bus are detailed on Ayamonte Town Circular .

There is no bus service to Costa Esuri at the moment but buses run to Isla Canela all year round. There are two services one to Punta del Moral and one to Playa de Isla Canela. The services are more frequent in summer. The timetable for winter 2007/8 is available on Isla Canela Bus Timetable .

There are daily bus services from Ayamonte to Vila Real, Faro and Lagos with various stops on the way. The service to Faro stops at the bus station some 5km from the airport. The trip to Faro takes about 1 hour 40 minutes and 3 hours 30 minutes to Lagos. A full list of destinations and timetable is available on Bus Services to Faro & Lagos .

There is a daily bus service to Lisbon and Porto. The service to Lisbon takes 5 hours 30 minutes and to Porto a torturous 16 hours. For those of you who like self-inflicted punishment more information is available on Lisbon & Porto Bus Services .

There is a daily (7 days a week) service to Madrid via Seville run by Socibus. The service takes 8 hours 30 minutes and runs three times daily. More details are available on Madrid Bus Service .
